"Fault-tolerant Systems: The Software Viewpoint". Presented by V. De Florio et al. at the University of Antwerp. The Seminarie Informatica course is mandatory for the 4th year "students of the Computer Science programme of the University of Antwerp. Each year the course proposes a series of seminars on hot topics of computer science research and practice. The theme of the current series is "Fault-tolerant Systems: The Software Viewpoint". Software-based approaches towards fault-tolerance have been presented by various speakers. The use of middleware, libraries, multiple-version software fault-tolerance, metaobject protocols, aspect-oriented
programming, and special-purpose fault-tolerance programming languages has been discussed. In particular, the benefits of middleware approaches and their use in ARFLEX have been presented. http://www.pats.ua.ac.be/courses/seminarieinformatica
